About The DL

Our story

Welcome to The DL, where New York’s energy meets a room built for nights out. Established in 2012, The DL has grown into one of downtown’s go-to destinations — the best parts of a rooftop bar, a club and a lounge, under one retractable roof.

The name is the address: Delancey & Ludlow. What happens here is up to you.

From day one the idea has been simple: the best rooftop night in the city — views, service, music, and a room that welcomes New Yorkers and visitors alike. Over the years that has meant celebrity appearances, album release parties and some of downtown’s most talked-about nights.

Three levels

The Rooftop — Third floor

Our crown jewel: roughly 5,000 square feet of live trees and hanging greenery under a fully retractable glass roof, with a central bar, a DJ booth and a 185-inch LED wall. Open-air when the sky cooperates, climate-controlled when it doesn’t.

The Lounge — Second floor

Also known as the Red Room: velvet banquettes, a gold back bar and an LED wall, with its own restrooms and a private entrance on Ludlow Street. Reggaeton lives here on Fridays and Saturdays.

Le Jardin Bistro — First floor

Our chandelier-lit dining room — French-inspired dinner and weekend brunch, and the first drink of the night.

The music

Our resident DJs blend open format, house, hip-hop and reggaeton to keep the floors full — with guests like Statik Selektah dropping in, and weekly institutions like KOMPA Tuesdays.

The neighborhood

We’re on the corner of Delancey and Ludlow, one block from the Lower East Side Tenement Museum and a minute from the F, J, M and Z at Delancey St – Essex St.

From the rooftop patio you can see the Williamsburg Bridge; from the main floor, the whole Lower East Side skyline.
